Hydrotherapy refers to exercise in warm water maintained at a therapeutic temperature. In water, our bodies are buoyant, and this takes away the impact that gravity normally has on our joints. The warm temperature also works to allow muscles to relax and joint mobility to increase. Hydrotherapy is the ideal way to exercise for a wide variety of conditions, including:
- Post surgery (especially joint surgery)
- Back pain
- Joint pain
- Chronic pain conditions including Fibromyalgia
- Impaired balance
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Whenever land based exercise is painful or difficult
